The best areas to live on the Costa Blanca

One of the best places to live on the Costa Blanca is undoubtedly Alicante and its surroundings. One of the main characteristics is the climate, with more than 300 days of sunshine all year round, with an ideal average temperature practically all year round.

Santa Pola

It is a spectacular municipality, next to the coast, only 20 minutes from Alicante city and 10 minutes from Alicante airport.
It has 13 kilometres of coastline, with several beaches, a fishing port and marina.
The beach located in the centre of the town is the Levante beach, with restaurants nearby and next to the port with boats that will take you to the island of Tabarca. This island has charm, natural areas with different coves with crystal clear waters, a beautiful town centre with picturesque houses and restaurants to enjoy the traditional dishes of the area. It is ideal to visit one day and return in the afternoon.
Other beach areas to highlight are the coves of Santa Pola del Este, with crystal clear waters and more natural areas, to take a stroll and enjoy the sea breeze. In this area, you will find the Santa Pola lighthouse, a natural area, where you can go hiking or cycling, and enjoy incredible views of the sea and the coast from the viewpoint of the Santa Pola lighthouse.
La playa de Tamarit es conocida por sus dimensiones y por ser una zona ideal para disfrutar de deportes acuáticos como el Windsurf, Kayak y Paddle surf entre otros. Al final de la zona de Tamarit se encuentra una espectacular zona, el Parque Natural de las Salinas de Santa Pola, dónde podrás ver una fauna única, entre la que destaca el flamenco.
As for the leisure area, Santa Pola has a beautiful promenade, with all kinds of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the local cuisine on a terrace overlooking the sea.

Alicante y San Juan

The capital of Alicante has everything you need to live close to the sea. As far as the beaches of the capital are concerned, El Postiguet beach stands out, which is wide and easy to access, as you can walk there from the central areas of Alicante city centre.
Another notable beach is located to the north of the capital of Alicante, Albufereta beach, which is a quieter beach with dark sand.
The beach of San Juan de Alicante, located in the north of Alicante city, is a very well known beach where you can enjoy the leisure and restaurants along the entire coastline.
Finally, the beach of Muchavista, located to the north, in the area of El Campello. It is an extensive beach, which continues with the beach of San Juan de Alicante, ideal for enjoying the sunny days that the area offers.
Alicante is a capital city with all the services that will make your stay comfortable, whether you are travelling from Spain or from abroad.
It has very good connections through Alicante airport, about 10 minutes drive from the capital, with flights to most areas in Spain or Europe. It also has a RENFE train station, with routes to various parts of Spain, making travel very convenient and fast.
In terms of leisure, Alicante is the capital where you will find the best atmosphere to have a drink on a terrace overlooking the sea, enjoy the wide variety of quality restaurants, party in discos and bars, or enjoy different activities, such as going to the theatre or visiting the Castle of Santa Barbara, facing the Mediterranean.

Torrevieja

It is situated in the south of the province of Alicante, and has extensive beaches of fine sand.
One of the most outstanding beaches is La Mata beach, one of the largest beaches, which stands out for its tranquillity and for its beach bars and restaurants along the coast.
In the centre of Torrevieja, the beaches we can find are Playa de los Locos and Playa del Cura, with fine sand and good access from the centre of Torrevieja.
Finally, the beach of Los Náufragos is located in the southern part of Torrevieja, where we can also find services all around.
Something unique and remarkable is the 1,400 hectare Laguna Rosa de Torrevieja, which is part of the Parque Natural de las Lagunas de la Mata y de Torrevieja. This phenomenon is due to a pinkish pigmentation given off by the salt in the lagoon, which gives it a very striking colour that you should not miss.
Torrevieja has leisure activities all year round, restaurants, bars and other areas of interest, so you can live all year round by the sea and with a spectacular climate.

Orihuela Costa

In Orihuela Costa, you can find 16 kilometres of beaches along the coastline. The most important beaches are Punta Prima beach, which belongs to Torrevieja and offers a wide variety of tourist services.
Playa Flamenca, is an urbanised area of Orihuela Costa, divided into two beaches, La Mosca beach and La Estaca beach. In both you can do water activities, it has different beach bars and restaurants to enjoy the leisure on the beach. The outstanding thing about Playa Flamenca is also the proximity to two well-known golf courses in the area, such as the Real Campo de Golf de Campoamor and the Campo de Golf de Villamartin, just 5 minutes away by car. It also has a very good connection, only 5 minutes by car, to the well known shopping centre Zenia Boulevard, one of the biggest shopping centres on the coast.
A very busy and well known area is La Zenia, an area that includes Cala Cerrada and Cala Bosque, with the Zenia Boulevard shopping centre and the different golf courses mentioned above.
Cabo Roig is an exclusive area, as it has one of the best promenades in Orihuela Costa, with views of the cliffs bathed by the Mediterranean Sea. There is a marina where you can hire numerous nautical activities, including kayak rentals, jet skis, paddle surfing, diving lessons and flyboarding.
